Increased knowledge on local sensitivity for internal corrosion by modelling

One of the major requisites for many of the network deterioration mechanisms, of which internal corrosion is one, is the presence of liquid water together with one or more harmful components. Under normal operation, water should not be present in the transmission network, however in practice it sometimes is. At so called 'hold-up locations´, network geometry and operational circumstances are such that water may resist in liquid form. We increased the knowledge regarding the risks associated with water by modelling the internal corrosion at these locations.
