As of 1 July 2008, Eneco NetBeheer has changed its name into Stedin. Eneco has decided to position the infrastructure activities separately from the network manager and to, at minimum, let Stedin carry out the legally required network manager tasks. Effective as of 1 January 2008, Stedin has acquired economic possession of all regulated tangible fixed assets. In addition, the transfer of employees was realised, which was necessary for carrying out the core tasks of Stedin. These are requirements set by the Independent Network Management Act (Wet Onafhankelijk Netbeheer).
The gross margin from the distribution of electricity and gas has decreased by €16 million to €355 million. Because the operating costs have risen by €12 million, Stedin’s operating profit over the first half of 2008 amounted to €150 million, a decrease of €26 million compared to the same period in 2007.
