Advanced green gas technology development (phase 2)

How to convert biomass, preferably of local origin, into gas with acceptable quality at reasonable costs?

This project is an extension of the phase 1 of the project Advanced green gas technology development. It concerns atmospheric gasification and gas cleaning for dry biomass and supercritical water gasification of wet biomass, to produce a natural gas substitute. Much attention will be given to carbon dioxide removal, preferably in combination with catalytic activity to tune the gas composition. The main question for this project is how to convert biomass, preferably of local origin, into gas with acceptable quality at reasonable costs. The focus lies on technology development, trying to find the optimum balance between efficiency on the production side and possible negative effects on transport, distribution and use.
